Nine Noble Virtues

We’ve not found a specific list of virtues practiced by our pre-Christian Germanic ancestors. Whatever writings may have been put down have been lost or destroyed, but in reading the Poetic Edda, these virtues are plainly evident. My Christian friends should see parallels with what you’ve been taught since you were a wee bairn. These are the virtues practiced by keepers of The Old Ways. These are also virtues I see practiced by my Christian friends.

Why list them here? A reminder. As our country slides into the ditch, practicing these virtues is important, and recognizing those who don’t perhaps even more so. Surround one’s self with virtuous folk and separate from those who are not. Do this, and one’s religious convictions may not cause conflict with those who differ.

I would except Islam from this because the Koran teaches lying to infidels is acceptable. So, too, Talmudic Judaism.

  1. This is critical. These Nine Noble Virtues are so simple to live, yet so excoriated by the left, the media, and by our government.

We must NEVER stop living by these precepts… indeed, they are the backbone of what it means to be men.

  2. What’s really sad is that so many in our country have no idea what some of these virtues even mean. Parents have not taught their children well. So-called religions have neither taught these virtues nor demonstrated the significance of adhering to them. And our “selected” representatives? A joke.

Most Americans have not felt real pain yet so nothing will happen on the scale that will be impactful.

  3. “And our “selected” representatives? A joke.” Indeed. They swear an oath to protect and defend the Constitution from all enemies foreign and domestic, then violate that oath at every turn, with every bill they pass. When the average American is provided this example, when entertainment and celebrities and yes, even the ‘church’ ignore the Virtues, it is little wonder that society follows? What’s that old saying? A fish rots from the head?

The ‘real pain’ of which you speak is coming. The only way out is through. Prepare accordingly.

  4. I’ve had conversations with my mother regarding this. I tried to explain that she, and my father passed virtues to me and sister subconsciously when we were wee little kids, without knowing. There is something to be said about this. The Old Guard is precious in these times. I grew up in a Presbyterian household in rural Idaho.
