The Lesser Of Two Evils

The lesser of two evils is a concept, an ethical framework, if you will, of selecting between two undesirable choices. This concept is voiced frequently regarding politics, but it exists throughout life, including healthcare, warfare, and even when you go to the grocery store (do I buy this package of hot dogs, and feed my family until Friday, or do I buy something healthier, but have no food for two days). Since I submit that most people who read this forum are educated, please remember the story of Odysseus, who had to make a choice by sailing closer to Scylla, where he lost six men, rather than toward Charybdis, whose whirlpool would have killed everyone.

Absolute ethical views are a hallmark in Christian Theology, and sacrificing yourself to the lions seems to be the moral high ground in a society that values absolute morality, but the cost-benefit analysis doesn’t work out in the end. You cannot defeat your enemy if you don’t survive to fight him. Consider the Treaty of Jaffa in 1192. Richard I could have pushed toward Jerusalem, even as his army was sick, weak, and outnumbered. This choice would have almost certainly led to the destruction of the Christian stronghold in the Levant. His other choice was concede Jerusalem to the Muslims, give up Ascalon, and understand that the original goal of the Crusades had failed. Two terrible choices, but he chose the truce, so the “evil” Richard I chose was accepting that the Crusades’ founding goal had failed. The “greater evil” he avoided was total military annihilation and the permanent loss of all Christian footholds in the Holy Land.

We face this same dilemma nearly every election, and about this time in the cycle people decide out of disgust that they will simply not vote rather than vote for the lesser of two evils. Okay. If that’s the hill you’re going to die on, understood. Just realize that YOU ARE GOING TO DIE ON THAT HILL. And so will the rest of us. It also assumes that no progress has been made against the sheer and utter destruction of the Obama and then the Biden regimes. I have used the example that it takes minutes to burn down a house, but months to rebuild it.

Let me use a more appropriate example. It takes hours for a hurricane, or a firestorm (think Hawaii or Los Angeles) to destroy an entire community, and years to rebuild, and perhaps never. The Obama and Biden regimes were firestorms that ravaged America in it’s entirety. The fact that we are still recovering less than two years after deposing the Biden (Obama) regime is not a statement about the lack of progress of the Trump administration, but a statement about the destruction from the firestorm of the Biden regime. Nevertheless, progress HAS been made. It’s easy to read x posts and facebook posts and all of our other doom porn sites that talk about how Trump has failed, but do we EVER read about how he has succeeded? We certainly know the media won’t report this, and good news travels at about 1/1000 the speed of bad news.

So, as you contemplate staying home in November, and letting the Demoncrats retake the country, imagine the lawfare against the Trump administration, paralyzing everything that is being done, and attempting to be done, remember what happened to the J6 participants, remember the mandatory rape of your body with vaccines, and the rape of our country by illegal immigrants.

It’s freedom versus communism. If the communists take over, IT’S OVER. For God’s sake, they want us dead. They have said so over and over. They HATE us. They have allowed criminals to destroy civil society, and have actively killed our most vulnerable. Are you really going to continue to permit that to resume? Because of some narrative fallacy? Don’t get me wrong… we’re all vulnerable to this. Even (or especially) the AI engines, including Grok, are subject to giving us wrong conclusions, simply because the liberals work so much harder to push a false narrative than those who report the truth. They win simply because of volume, nothing more.

We have a problem. Liberals are evil, and the conservatives are cowards. THIS is why they will win. If you choose not to vote, enjoy your chains and your bread lines as you starve to death.

  1. You are very wrong if you assume that only the democrats are evil.
They are both exactly the same just different means and roads they travel on.
Go into your memory and think about the evil of the Bush-Cheney years, with the pedophile Dennis Hastert as speaker. ALL GOP created evil

I am NOT taking sides, just pointing out that you cannot vote your way out of this if you continue to vote for who you think is not evil

    1. Perhaps you did not understand my point. At that time we were faced with two choices, both bad, although it did not seem that way to many of us at the time. You are correct, Bush/Cheney were disastrous and evil. I simply submit that Al Gore was MORE evil and we would be in even worse shape today.

We are constantly faced with having to make choices. Every day. Many times we do not have the option of making the RIGHT choice. We only have the option of making the BEST choice, and hope and pray that we were correct. The other option is not making a choice, which actually IS making a choice… you’re simply letting someone else make it for you.

  2. Unfortunately the best case result from these two options is that we kick the can down the road for our children and grandchildren to deal with. Team liberty needs to adopt a tertia optio mindset and reject that our options can only be A or B.
