Deisel here in New England seems about 6.40 average and gas about 4.40,this is last few days locally,seems to go higher kinda quick!
Here in N/W Az diesel was 6.50 plus gas at 4.50, looks like we are at the cross roads just before things get really bad.
$5 per gallon of regular gas in western Cook county Illinois. Just west of Chicago. About $6.50 for diesel.
Here in western Washington, not far from Everett, I’m regularly seeing diesel above $7/gal., gas over $5/gal.
I have seen the first discussions of a Trucker strike for 01 October 2026. No idea if this is just speculation, or attempting to generate momentum, but no matter, if you think you will need certain items in two months (or even two weeks) best start thinking about stocking up now on these things that might be scarce or ridiculously expensive around Thanksgiving.
It’s hard to imagine any scenario where this gets better.
Bought 100 lbs of hard white wheat today. No soft white wheat was available. 1/2 peck of apples at Barbers orchard was $16. They were $14 a month ago.
Wow just looked up various wheat berries. Red, Hard white, soft white… Organic and non-organic but Roundup free.
Crazy prices compared to a few years ago.
Please pass on a good deal on hard white David.

Diesel is $8.49 (cash) and $8.59 (credit) at the Pilot stop on the 210 Freeway in San Bernadino this afternoon.
I’ve been traveling in northern California for the past week. No shortages, but mid gas is $6.69 gal and diesel is $8.99 gal. No shortages that I’m aware of in Western Colorado.
