      I was about to see that it would be awfully nice if they had just deleted it. Anybody here want to take bets on whether or not government IT geniuses maintain proper backups?

   Then delete the data of u.s. gun owners from the U.N. as well.

   If true all ATF personnel who knew about it were breaking the law and should be prosecuted. Also since the data is illegal it should be erased.

      None of which will ever happen, of course. It is, however, a teachable moment that gives yet another reason why there should not be a centralized gun registry maintained by anybody, much less the inept sonsabitches in the government.
