Sounds Like Home

For the record, I will not drive through standing water.

It would not be a normal day without gunfire. Mostly on the range across the street but our neighborhood is “active”. The Community Center Range has not been active lately but that will also be changing.

Explosions mean tannerite. Get you some and have some fun. Explosions and high velocity rifles = good times.

But “fire”. It must be a primal thing. I have 28 acres and currently three separate burn pits. And I am considering adding two more. Diesel and a propane brush burner are now essential supplies.

Cute! Thanks!!! I am picky about crossing running water. Most of our areas have something to judge depth from and velocity is visible. Anything more than about 8 inches depth and I hunt for a way around. Also want concrete roadway to cross. We have far more gravel and dirt road than paved. With the gravel and dirt you have no idea the depth as the water will cut a channel. Tannerite is a good time and holiday special here!

  2. Best things about Rednecks. Not only do they wave as they drive by, if you’re working on a flat, they often stop and ask if you need help.

If you talk to them like a good neighbor, they don’t mind a request not to shoot that way as your barn’s got an extra hole yesterday.

Rednecks do favors and repay favors often. When my neighbors plow broke this spring, I showed up with the welder and he’s back in business. Most of the repair part was an old lawnmower blade he had laying around. Good Tool Steel.

Good neighbors. Now the Massholes that moved up from Boston….

  3. Tannerite is fun and all, but thermite is way more funner. Easier to make if you live in a “rust-ish” area.
4th of JuLy sparklers burn hot enough.

  4. I had not realized until viewing this video that South Chicago was full of rednecks, as “random shots fired” seems to not bother those residents whatsoever.

    Who knew?

  5. When I hear a big bang, I know it’s Fred.
Gun shots off in the distance could be Herb or someone visiting their property from Atlanta depending on time of the year.
As for snakes, I sho them away to kill mice and rats.
As for turtles, stop and move them off the road.
As for vehicles I don’t recognize, I call neighbors before stopping them next time to see what they are up to. This includes the idiots from the power company except I don’t call the neighbors.
