I live in EastTN, and she has had a profound impact with her generosity and charity in the poorest area’s around here.
Very sad, from what I know about her she was a very kind person who was very generous with helping people. We will miss her.

Ok, I was trying to be gentlemanly about it, but I’ll bite. Dolly could easily have taken the shots if she really thought they were a good idea. And then she could have kept her mouth shut about it, and that would’ve been that. But, being a celebrity of some repute, she chose to use the bully pulpit her status and reputation afforded her to encourage others to get the shitshots.
She also at least once characterized those of us who refused to play along as “chickenshits”, which was just pettiness for it’s own sake. Now, that doesn’t really bother me, as I’ve been called far worse (and didn’t really care about any of those insults, either) but the fact is that her publicly taking up in support of the shots, and using her influence to have others do the same, creates culpability, and detracts from her otherwise sterling image.
Here’s a thought exercise: if stephen colbert drops dead tomorrow, would anyone here actually object to posthumously slagging that snarky little shit, who gave the world that cringeworthy “vaxscene” song and dance number? I rather doubt it. And here’s the point: the difference between Dolly and colbert is only a matter of degree. I’ll cut Dolly some slack, as I acknowledge the good things she did. But she gets points taken off in the last quarter of play for unsportsmanlike conduct.

I never had heard of this before either. I posted an article that I thought would allow people to express their feelings on her passing. I did not expect the vitriol and backlash that was unleashed. This was part of her public push for the vaccine after previously waiting her turn so it wouldn’t appear she was jumping the line.
Geniuses after the fact? Her actions are documented on video. Just because you didn’t see it at the time doesn’t mean it didn’t happen. I saw it, and it was one of the first things that came to my mind when I heard she had passed.
I’m trying not to be an asshole here, but I tire of those who want only to praise and commend her, and feign indignation that the truth would be spoken, even if it’s unflattering to her otherwise decent reputation. Her public actions regarding the COVID shots had real deleterious consequences. They also demonstrated a false pride over a misinformed belief that has since been proven wrong (that the shots were safe and effective, or even neccessary to begin with) which she followed on by insulting those of us who knew from the start that they weren’t.
That justifies a certain amount of criticism, and I give no one involved in that shameful episode of mass delusion a free pass on their culpability. Some of us have, in fact, been keeping score.

Do come on now. You seem to be intent on defending her reputation, despite the fact she was an active participant in the campaign to pressure the public via celebrity endorsement and shaming tactics (there was also an entire raft of other incentive campaigns, remember the free donuts if you showed your vaxx card?) as well as by financially underwriting the development of the shots.
Like it or not, that creates culpability on her part. Maybe not to the same extent as someone like Fauci or Birx, but responsibility still needs to be ascribed. As I already said, she could easily have privately taken the shots for herself (if she believed they were that critically important) and said not one further word about it, but instead she used her position as someone a lot of people admired and trusted (needlessly, I maintain, as they did so solely for the fact she was a celebrity, but that’s another matter that entire dissertations could be written on).
You try to characterize this as my spitting on her grave. A leap like that will get you into a Nike commerical. Speaking the truth on the verifiable conduct of someone who has just passed is not speaking poorly of them, it is leveling legitimate criticism of their actions while alive. If you find that tasteless, that’s your problem, and I am under no obligation to stick to some social code you wish to impose just because my factual remarks offend your tender sensibilities.
Giving people who had a hand in doing something bad a pass, just because it is considered uncouth to do so right after they’ve died gives them an undeserved pass for their conduct. When do you think it would be appropriate to broach this issue? In 3 months? 6 months? A year? It has come up now, because it is relevant to her life, and she is in the news because she passed away, thus the revisiting of this information was inevitable.
In any case, I’ve already spent enough effort on this subject, those who agree with my remarks get where I’m coming from, those who disagree just don’t, and probably never will. It is little different from the debates that took place during the height of COVID, where someone like myself who refused to be constrained to the accepted narrative would make a good faith effort to try and impart relevant information on those who bought the mainstream “facts” hook line and sinker. These people came to a point where they would often demand a source to back up my assertions. If I provided a source, they would immediately dismiss it as either inadequate or debunked. They never actually wanted a source, it was just a disingenuous tactic to end the debate, because they were too uncomfortable with having to listen to somebody say something that didn’t agree with their preconceived notions.
I learned very quickly to tell such people to piss off when they asked for a source. I would also to point out that they had access to the very same internet that I did, and the only thing keeping them from researching information that didn’t comport with what they already believed were their own biases. You have your point of view on this matter presently under discussion, and it is fundamentally different from mine. I’ll not bother further arguing the matter with you, because you don’t want to understand my position. Sorry to hear that since clearly, you’re RIGHT and will never think perhaps there was more to think and research about.
Ok, here’s the only fact that matters: I, and countless others, knew merely by our gut that the shots were garbage the day they became available. We didn’t need experts to do studies and prove it for us years later (which was far too late to do any good anyway, as was fully their intent). We who knew used out natural, God given ability for discernment. Sometimes that’s all one has to rely on, because all the official sources, experts and institutions are compromised and are part of the scam.
So, no, you don’t get to give Dolly a pass because there was no officially sanctioned information available to her at the time to help her figure out what was really going on. That was the entire point of the whole exercise, to bullshit the whole world into making a horrible decision. Those of us who realized early (I guess we were all just savants of some sort, eh?) had only the following to make the call on:
1. It was a hastily developed treatment of experimental nature. Developing and properly testing a vaccine takes 10-20 years, typically. Just by virtue of the rush job, we knew it had to be bullshit. Then they added blanket legal immunity to the manufacturers of these shots for any harm done.
2. It was of a fairly new type of treatment – MRNA – never successfully used before. It did have a long record of failure and deleterious effects in all prior test uses. This was strike 2 against it’s rapid, wide acceptance.
3. The absolute full court press psyop that was undertaken to persuade as many people as possible to get the shots was unnaturally forceful, and took on a tone of derangement that made it all the more suspicious, in the minds of those of us who already knew better.
4. The punitive nature of the reaction unleashed by officialdom (and then mirrored by countless Karens) against those of us who refused, and in turn the complete disregard for our rights, served only to bolster our suspicions and our insolence against authoritarians.
5. The official story kept changing so rapidly, that our vindication came fairly early in the rollout. First, it was two shots and you were protected. The it was the need for additional boosters. Then it was “the shots work, but don’t impart sterilizing immunity”. Then it was the fact the shots appeared to do nothing (good) at all, as those who took them multiple times still got horribly sick with COVID. Oh, and they could still spread it to others. That’s some vaccine they had there, wasn’t it?
6. Backtracking for a minute, in the lead up to all of the above, the very definition of a vaccine, which had been unchanged for decades, was suddenly and inexplicably watered down to allow a mere therapeutic to pass muster as a vaccine, which allowed them to sell this shit as something it never was. This was a gross representation, and on its own is justification to pillory every sonofabitch involved.
Never mind the fact that all the institutions that were supposed to protect against exactly this sort of scenario were, in point of fact, directly involved in its propagation. Therefore, there were no official “good guys” who could have interceded on behalf of logic and reason, because they were all pushing the bullshit in lockstep.
Ergo, we had only our own judgement and discernment to rely upon. It turned out that was more than good enough, because we skeptics who warned about the risks and downsides have been proven correct in nearly every one of the red flags we raised, with the passage of time. Those who lacked our superior ability (and sense of self preservation against bad medical science) to discern what was actually going on don’t get excused because they didn’t know better.
My ire is directed especially those who took an outsized role in actively making the situation worse. Dolly was one of the latter, an active and willing participant in goading others to make a terrible mistake; a force multiplier, in essence. Yet you persist in wanting to defend her for doing so, and take umbrage at my insistence that she be called out for her part in perpetrating a crime against humanity.
Don’t bother trying to rebut this, because you clearly have nothing further to bring to the discourse. I, meanwhile, have meticulously outlined exactly where I’m coming from (and why) and fully expect that my efforts still won’t be adequate to get you to understand, because you don’t want to. Exactly as happened countless times during the height of COVID when fruitless debates occurred with NPC’s who could never be convinced of their errors.
