
Current Status
- On July 8–9, 2026, President Trump publicly announced via Truth Social that he intends to seek a rehearing “immediately,” calling the Supreme Court’s June 30 decision “insane.”
- Supreme Court Rule 44 gives the losing party a 25-day window after the judgment to file a petition for rehearing. That window remains open (deadline is approximately July 25, 2026).
- No filing has been reported on the Supreme Court’s docket, in major news outlets, or by legal trackers as of today. It is possible they are preparing or will file before the deadline, but nothing has been submitted yet.
