Trump and the Spirit of Antichrist

For the Christian reader who holds to ‘end times’ theology comes the question; could Trump be The Antichrist? Interesting article from Unz Review:

Trump ticks several boxes:

– He opposes the spirit of Jesus Christ, who was meek, humble, hung out with the poor and despised the rich, opposed the Jewish bankers and drove them out of the temple, preached love and forgiveness and turn-the-other-cheek, and so on.
– Trump seems to be falsely claiming the savior role.
– Trump is the epitome of “lawless world leader.”
– Trump persecutes the genuine believers, whether Christians like Tucker Carlson and Candace Owens and Megyn Kelly and Prejean Boller, or Muslims like the Iranian leadership (and the other 2 billion Muslims).
– Trump demands worship. Stop bowing to him, and you’ll never work in his town again.
– And finally, though we are only in the sixth year of Trump’s eight-year “covenant,” he has permanently broken his main promise—to be a peacemaker. That is not quite “breaking a 7-year covenant” but it’s close enough.

  1. He isn’t the Antichrist.

The most likely and fitting candidate was Nero, and the majority of the Book of Revelation was fulfilled at the destruction of the Second Temple. Josephus is the best reference for what actually occurred then, recorded in his War of the Jews.

We are living now in the Little Season as recorded in Revelation 20.

I’ve been a an amateur student of theology and the end times for 35 years, and only in the past 6 months have I come across Little Season Eschatology, and it seems to fit the reality of our world far better than any other dispensation.

Everything else is smoke and mirrors, bread and circuses.

  2. The Anti Christ will:
    1) Suffer a head wound that will not kill him
    2) Be behind a 7 year peace deal between Israel and it’s opponents. (Broken after 3 1/2 years.)
    3) Reinstitute Animal Sacrifice in the Temple.

There’s so much wrong with the author’s viewpoint. Any professional writer that resorts to name-calling is insecure and petty at best; a trait found in 12 year olds more than anywhere else. Yes, Trump fits that description as well. However, these two points stood out to me:

“Christian traditions suggest that the Antichrist will try to “rebuild the temple” in Jerusalem after committing an “abomination of desolation.” It’s my understanding that no, the rebuilding of the third temple will be fulfilled and not merely attempted [try]. And the abomination of desolation will occur in the temple after it’s finished.

“Islamic tradition follows Christianity in its view of Dajjal or Antichrist, just as it accepts the Christian claim that Jesus is the one true Messiah.” It’s my understanding that though Muslims accept Jesus Christ as an important prophet, they do not revere him as the one and only Messiah.
