There are only TWO credible/significant contributors to the surface temperature of the Earth:

    1. Solar Energy
    2. Water Vapor*

    * Meaning, clouds + micronized H2O (“not visible” vapor).

    2. May be expressed as “albedo,” the reflectance of light/heat away from Earth.

That’s it! You may now start your F150 with a clear conscience.

The 1980 Mt. St. Helens volcanic eruption pumped more CO2 gas into our atmosphere than all of the CO2 output of humans since the beginning of the Industrial Revolution.

    In nine hours.

    1. And how many other major volcanic eruptions have occured in the ensuing 46 years, that simply multiplied the “damage” that no amount of human restraint could ever hope to reverse (as if such was possible – or even desirable – to begin with). It was always about coercing a chance in behavior to lower living standards, and steal away unfathomable amounts of money from the masses, and put it in the pockets of the wealthy ruling class types. It was a great little scam for a while too, because it was easy to play when feelings of guilt amongst hardcore do-gooders, and even a lot of middle of the road folks who felt it was difficult to argue with the notion of not taking better care of our planet.

That’s why the initial rollout of environmentalism focused more on things like keeping litter out of the environment, lowering fuel consumption and vehicle emissions, and recycling. The first was a perfectly reasonable and honorable idea, and easy to achieve (in theory) without much cost. Even the second one had merit, but has now been taken to such an extreme as to become onerous. The third point, much like not littering. Is automatically perceived as a good and sensible thing to do, until it becomes apparent that they put the cart before the horse in terms of there being little or no market for much of the recyclable material that’s collected. Particularly and where plastics are concerned.

This led directly to a situation where the first world sneakily dumped all of its unwanted recycling material on the third world, and to some extent China. From there it was usually mishandled, causing all the environmental damage that it would have in the first world, but simply relocating it out of sight and out of mind to places where self-important save the world types could comfortably deny that it existed, since they couldn’t see it. Naturally, this added plenty of cost for the end user/consumer, while the proceeds of which typically went into the pockets of the very people who made the initial public marketing push for these things to be done.

  2. The ‘Sahara Desert’ was not always a desert, it was a fertile region of North Africa several centuries ago.
