Most assuredly we will look back on this time with regret. Just as we look back today on what happened 25 years ago, and the ensuing knee jerk reaction to that event, with regret. Our future regret for circa 2026 will probably not be principally over the headlong rush into garbage technology, for there are a multitude of other bad decisions being made right now that are unrelated to AI. AI is a massive bubble, so it is sucking all the oxygen (and attention) out of the room presently. This is causing other problems to go largely ignored, which naturally will be to our detriment.
