His statements rooted in arrogant, bombastic idiocy would almost be amusing, but for the effect they’re having on geopolitics. I don’t know if he said this seriously, as a troll, or if he flubbed his intended remarks, but it’s embarrassing in any case, as it comes off as some sort of parody. A major poltiical figure who publicly states that he has unilaterally bound other parties to a ceasefire merely on the strength and merit of his own pronouncement cannot be taken seriously. If Putin or Xi made a similarly styled statement, it would be cause for much ridicule. So too should it be for Trump.
