  1. Putin cannot honor any cease fire. His hold on power mandates he win the war he started. Ukraine of course will logically continue attacking Russian infrastructure. So the carnage will continue. Neither side can give in. For Ukraine it means survival. For Putin it means his position in power…and quite possibly his life. There can be o cease fire. Eventually oneside will collapse. Odds are it will be Ukraine but it’s conceivable both do.

    1. Dan, care to share your insider knowledge about Putin and Russia since you post so often about it?

Maybe some links to what facts support this statement?

Putin for the record has often foolishly HONORED more than a few cease fire until he finally had to deem America “Agreement Incapable”.

And Yes, Dan, I CAN post links if you want to read some facts.

    2. Where is this war that Putin started?

“Not one inch eastward!” – James Baker, US Secretary of State, 1990.

      1. Bang on. The war between Ukraine and Russia was stoked (and planned) by the US and numerous western allies in Europe as far back as the collapse of the USSR. Fake promises were made by the US that there would be no Eastward expansion of NATO, and yet that promise was repeatedly broken by admitting numerous new countries.

This all culminated with the publicly announced plan to admit Ukraine, which was a clearly and repeatedly stated no-go for Russia. Putin was thereby finally forced to act to protect Russian interests. The only foolish thing Russia did in this regard was to trust the US, and attempt to negotiate in good faith towards a peaceful solution, that the US never intended to honor in the first place.

The US government is the principal bad actor here, although the UK and Germany have considerable culpability in the furtherance of this mess. And the US, for it’s part, had it’s policy on Ukraine (and antagonizing Russia) driven by the (((usual suspects))) within it’s government. Vickie Nuland (among others), anyone?

  2. Lights out. Uh Huh. Blast. Blast. Blast.
    Peter Wolf (1984)
