Amazon Web Services (AWS) says it cannot restore access to its cloud-computing facility in Bahrain or one of three data-hosting zones in the UAE due to the extensive damage caused by Iranian retaliatory strikes, Reuters reported on 15 September.
“The damage to our infrastructure spanned multiple Availability Zones and exceeded what our regional and multi-AZ services are designed to withstand,” AWS reported in its status update seen by Reuters.

Sure are a lot of force majeure events taking place these days. The fragility of systems – and inability to restore them after large scale failure – is really going to start having a material effect on things.

And in all honesty, if I try to look at the situation neutral, the whole move of killing off the leadership in the middle of peace negotiations? Why would they ever, EVER negotiate with the US again, at any point in the future? Russia’s Putler and Lavrov have stated the US/West is agreement incapable, Iran now learned that hard lesson as well. Neither nation will repeat the mistake.
Oddly enough, it’s one of the reasons I’m so certain there will be a world-wide war in the near term. The axis powers are clearly outlined, China, Russia, Iran, and whatever other BRIC nations want to throw in. It’s the entirety of the rest of the world vs. Us and isreal – europe’s already too much of a cluster-fuck w/ their immigration problems to be anything but a sound-bite. Then again, maybe part of the goal is to kill off the remaining white European males?
