Theres speculation by some science types that pre-humans started consuming mushrooms and it aided their evolution (beyond just the additional food source). Its a fascinating world. The biology is different than ours. Its a whole ‘nother branch on the tree of life (plant, animal, fungi)
Guess I’m lucky I’m not colorblind, I hate mushrooms. I find both the flavor and consistency disgusting. I suppose I could force myself to ingest a few if there was a legit medical benefit to doing so. I never thought I’d take a more favorable view of marijuana either, and while I’ve not used it to date, I can now foresee future circumstances where I might (i.e. for chronic pain) because of how much of a scam and a detriment the pharmaceutical industry has become. I’m not yet to the point of fully embracing homeopathic medicine, but I’ll certainly consider it on a case by case basis.
I tell you what, 5 grams? If they were anything like the ones I’ve had, that guy was definitely seeing colors!
Check out “MethylSulfonylMethane” as an inexpensive, bulk-sold supplement* with minimal risk; great for pain, especially the chronic types.

Oh yeah, what is it, the horse gel? DMSO, sold at tractor supply? I have some of that. It works. Cheap. Hate the smell, LOL!
It is no coincidence that we co-exist on the planet with these substances. Our brains have both opiod and cannabinoid receptors, and psychedelic compounds found in cactus, cannabis, mushrooms, ayahuasca and others have been extensively used as part of sacred religious ceremonies for thousands of years. We are BLESSED to have these plants/fungi at our disposal.
I only know of a couple of “wild” mushrooms that I would trust and even then with the most caution I could muster.
And I’m sure he had a wild time while participating in the experiment.
I hated mushrooms most of my life. And then my son starting doing research on mushrooms growing at the community center. He gave me some breaded chicken of the wood and it tasted like chicken with a better texture. This expanded into other mushrooms and their medicinal applications. If you do your own research, you will see another example where the government and the medical community have purposefully misled us.

I was wondering why me views of color were always so vibrant…..,bless the shroom!
On a more serious note, there is a lot out there the pharm industry hates and they have to a large degree bought off the govt. and media.
While we are on a serious note,”Bless the shroom!”.
Magic Mushrooms is the only drug I ever tried. Never smoked weed, even though many of my friends were potheads.
I did them twice. As someone who is very near-sighted, the mushrooms allowed me to see things so clearly, that I could see every pebble on the ground. Nevermind the crabs scuttling about in the desert.
Both times was a low amount and I enjoyed them immensely both times – so much that I never did them again, as much as I enjoyed seeing clearly without corrective lenses for the first time since I was 13 yrs old.
5 grams doesn’t sound like much, but when you’re talking about dried shrooms, it’s a lot.
5 grams is too much. How many grams did you take? Based on what we have learned about the food pyramid, doctors, pharmaceuticals and natural remedies, people should consider the treatments and food that God intended to maintain good health.
I don’t know what the weight was, but it was a thin slice of a stem and cap, dried. I bet if it had been dropped on a scale, it wouldn’t have shown up as grams, but milligrams. A friend gave me a handful in a ziplock sandwich bag when I PCSd from Ft. Carson as a parting gift. He had a garbage bag half full of them. Shrooms were popular back then because they didn’t come up on the piss tests used at the time.
