They once had run free through the desert mountains of the West, a multicolored band of 68 wild mustangs that had never been saddled or corralled.
Then the federal government rounded them up with helicopters, as it has with tens of thousands of other mustangs, in an attempt to control wild populations on public lands.

The horses were packed into echoing metal trailers and trucked 1,800 miles east to the pens of a hard-luck livestock trader in Ohio named Brandon Jones, who bought them for $25 each.A day later, two double-decker cattle trucks pulled up at midnight, loaded the mustangs and quickly drove off into the night.
From there the mustangs disappeared. They never appeared at a public auction. The trader won’t say where they went. Wild horse advocates suspect the horses were shipped to slaughter.

It wasn’t the first time, or the last. In the past year, the government has shipped the trader one truckload of mustangs after another. And not just him.

Writing on his own Truth Social platform on Friday, Trump announced the US would allow an additional 300,000 metric tons of ground beef to be imported without additional tariffs being imposed on suppliers. The President claimed the deal would “substantially lower the price of ground beef for working American families”.

“We have a commitment that this beef will be sold at 25 per cent below current market prices. This deal will reduce prices for Americans while giving space for our Great American Beef Herd to grow again.”

A reporter can be heard asking: “On that beef deal, which countries did you make that deal with?” Trump cuts her off, asking: “Which deal?”, to which she responds: “The beef deal.”Responding, Trump says: “I don’t want to say which countries, but there are a few countries, but they’re going to be sending in the highest quality beef, and it’s something that we need.”
Does it matter?
Isn’t it a wonder of nature that beasts fed on grass taste so well?

Wild mustangs have been rounded up for human consumption for many years. This is not on Trump, although I guess the sensitive among us could argue that he could stop it. Horsemeat is a delicacy in France and other European countries. And I am sure some of Black Beauty’s offspring have ended up in ALPO. A long time ago a B-List “actress”, Bo Derek, led a campaign to stop this practice. I guess that did not work out. Life is a vale of tears.
Deeper red than typical beef, leaner a tad sweet some say.

Ground with some beef fat I doubt without a DNA test anybody would know.
I know I had my share of a Moose ground up into 20-80 hamburger and it was awesome.
Oddly probably safer than the antibiotic stuffed roundup grain fed beef.
Odd thing to worry about as AIPAC brags about buying our elections.
As Dweezil says these horses had been rounded up and processed for a long time. Till the bunny huggers started whining about it. After that they were rounded up and sent to large holding facilities. Very few were sold or adopted. The ones that weren’t rounded up were left feral where they over bred and became inbred. They ate the landscape bare which affected the Deer and Elk population. This also affected the ranchers who leased the rangeland in these areas. Sorry to break it to some people but these animals need to be managed just like the game animals. My dad used to go to northern Nevada and rope some for personal use. He brought back a small colt that followed me around like basically a dog when I was about 3 or 4 years old in the early sixties. We had that horse for many years. But they have to be managed you can’t just let them over breed or they will starve and the other animals on the range will too.
And will this imported beef be mixed with lab grown garbage to “get the public used to it”?
Is the beef that Argentina is selling at below market the same contaminated beef that the Chinese would not buy? I bet it is.

Buddy worked in a feed lot. McDonald’s beef buyer would come and pick out what they wanted. A common question was, “How long has that one been dead?” followed by, “I’ll take it.”
