Two Empty Aircraft Carriers

The USS Abraham Lincoln Aircraft Carrier has been moved to within 250 kilometers of Iran’s coastline and Hypersonic, anti-ship missiles — with NO DESTROYER ESCORTS to protect it. A SECOND Aircraft Carrier, the USS George H.W. Bush (our newest carrier) has now taken up a position even CLOSER to Iran’s coastline: 170 kilometers from Iran’s hypersonic anti-ship missiles. The George HW Bush is escorted by two (2) Destroyers.

I suspect the Iranians won’t take the bait. And even if they do, if Trump and the neocons think pair of aircraft carriers on the bottom of the Sea of Oman are going to whip Americans into a frenzy of support for Netanyahu’s war, I think they’ll be very surprised.

And it wouldn’t surprise me if all four ships have skeleton crews and no aircraft on them. This is exactly the sort of Very Clever Gambit that the eternal Smart Boys think is genius.

Saturday Deadline: US Orders Iran To Declare Hormuz Open, Toll-Free…Or Else

The US is back to setting deadlines, coupled with new military threats, apparently. Judging by this week, which marked a dangerous return to guns-a-blazing in the Persian Gulf, it seems Trump is ready to back these warnings with new bombing raids. The only question will be the extent to which the Islamic Republic escalates in return.

How Israel Could Push The U.S. Into Further Bombing Iran

Israel shared intelligence with US of Iranian plot to assassinate Trump, sources say, Jul 9 2026 – CNN

Israel shared intelligence with the United States that Iran had recently devised a new plan to assassinate President Donald Trump, two sources familiar with the matter told CNN, adding another layer of tension as a ceasefire deal between the countries comes under strain.

Other American officials suggested the Israeli report could be an effort to sway Trump’s decision-making as he weighs whether to intensify American military action against Iran.

Trump tells The Post he’s ‘left instructions’ should Iran assassinate him: ‘Bomb them at levels’ never seen before, Jul 10 2026 – NY Post

President Trump on Friday told The Post he has “left instructions” should Iran succeed in their plots to assassinate him — and there’ll be hell to pay.

“I’ve been on their list for a long time. That’s what we’re dealing with,” he said. “… The only thing is, I’ve left instructions — if anything happens, to just literally bomb them at levels that they’ve never seen before.”

If Israel really wants to “intensify American military action against Iran” (and become the recipient of the inevitable retribution), what better way is there now than to remove Donald Trump?

  1. Goodness (mild sarc) I WONDER where Israel’s German Made multi-role Dolphin class Submarines are right about now?

SNIP Israel operates a fleet of five advanced Dolphin-class submarines, with a sixth, INS Drakon, undergoing trials, forming a key component of its strategic naval capabilities.

    Technical Specifications
The Dolphin-II submarines are 225 feet long, displace 2,400 tons submerged, and can reach speeds of 25 knots. They are equipped with air-independent propulsion (AIP), allowing them to remain submerged for up to 18 days, enhancing stealth and operational endurance

. Each submarine carries six 533mm torpedo tubes for DM2A4 torpedoes and Harpoon missiles, plus four enlarged 650mm tubes believed to launch Popeye Turbo cruise missiles with a range of up to 1,500 km, widely speculated to be nuclear-capable

    Strategic Role
The fleet provides Israel with a sea-based nuclear deterrent, offering a survivable second-strike capability.

Gee, I wonder if Iran’s nukes will be deployed against such vulnerable targets (Sarc). Carriers without a defensive battlegroup, eh?

    Pearl Harbor 2.0

Seems Iran’s going to get destroyed by Israel’s slave military.

I pray this doesn’t happen as I have family on one of the two Destroyers acting as bait.

  2. I served on carriers in my military time. They were working obsolescence even in the 80’s and 90’s. Absent any real counter threats they operated as power projection nodes up til recently.
Bill Buppert refers to them as future fish apartments. I agree with that assessment. Sadly.

    1. Right you are. This war and the previous episode in the Red Sea have proven to everyone that these platforms have reached the end of the road for any real utility in modern war. The cost benefit analysis should show that they are not worth the price tag and risk, and everyone should have seen that coming years ago. The same can be said for the amphibious assault ships and that whole doctrine of forced entry by sea. There had not been a large scale amphibious landing on a hostile beach by anyone since Inchon in 1950. The whole force structure we maintain is over hyped and over priced modern equipment designed to fight in the doctrines of WW2 and not the realities of 2026.
I don’t know if the Zionist crowd is thinking of deliberately getting these ships sunk to justify a nuclear attack on Iran or not, but I would not rule it out with those people. What is clear is that the failure to deliver combat results has exposed them is too vulnerable to be used and therefore they are of no utility to the Empire going forward. I would see a costly hit or a sinking resulting at outrage of course, but it would be directed at Trump and the other warmongers and not Iran.

      1. Concur with all but your final sentence. If these ships are sunk, while some outrage will certainly be directed at Trump, the uninformed masses at large will easily be whipped into a frenzy to support attacking Iran. It just too easy to do with the bush league propaganda that we know TPTB will employ.

It will be wall to wall psychological manipulation just as was so successful employed with COVID. It’s incredibly stupid and discouraging to see happening, and will drive intelligent people to despair upon witnessing it being done yet again.

        1. Well if you are right, whatever we intend to do as a follow-up will do more damage to us than we bargained for. We already have hit them with everything we have short of the nukes and that did not even come close to doing the job. A broad nuclear attack on Iran would kill many millions of helpless civilians, but the underground facilities would probably survive. Where it goes from there is just speculation on a foundation of speculation, so I won’t bother. All I can say is it won’t be a good outcome.

          1. I can find nothing to argue against there. I was only pointing out that manufacturing wide spread support for a major military operation won’t be that difficult, because those running the show or well versed in creating the particular circumstances and imagery needed to do so. Yes, it will be incredibly damaging to us, probably moreso than Iran, and we are already suffering self inflicted difficulties in the price of energy and fertilizer as a result of this folly. Worse still is to come, even if a new wave of attacks on Iran isn’t undertaken, so hitting them again only makes our future prospects that much poorer.

Maybe I’m overestimating how much “rah rah, kill the bastards” style support can be ginned up with the sinking of a couple of ships, or by the implementation of a false flag right here on our soil (a terrorist attack to rival or exceed the impact of 9/11), but having lived through, observed and analyzed the way ostensibly intelligent people were goaded into rank idiocy with the full court press applied during COVID, my faith in humanity not to be easily manipulated is as low as it’s ever been.

What mystifies me is how the ruling class can be so deluded as to believe they’ve got this thing in the bag. Given the size, population, geography and military capabilities of Iran, and how badly depleted our own military capabilities are in both quality and quantity, there is clearly no reasonable way we can defeat them. The blowback will be ruinous if we try.

And yet TPTB are so high on their own supply that they’ve completely disconnected from reality. But that’s true of everything they do, whether it’s military, economic or social policy, it’s all garbage predicated on fantasies, delusions and outright falsehoods.

  3. Maybe the game is to justify completely depleting the US stockpile, leaving the US totally defenseless?
