This is something that has been known for a long time. Even when it happened. There was no doubt it was deliberate. The political class openly hid their treason, and it was allowed to happen w/o dragging them into the streets and killing them.
This is why we still have the problems we do today. We’re not the first generation of cowards, only the latest.
