SCOTUS ruled that when police get your detailed cell phone location history from Google (through a "geofence" warrant), it counts as a Fourth Amendment search.

Of course not. Turn off your location services. Put your phone in Airplane mode. Then turn off your phone. Put it in a faraday bag if you MUST carry it with you.
And disconnect your damn google account from your phone. WTF is wrong with you people? You can use alternatives to google for your apps and updates, and even for apps that require google play services.
Aurora and F-Droid for your apps. MicroG for google play services. Go into your settings, then apps, and disable and force quit all of that crap (there are only a couple things you need to leave on for your phone to work).
Did you know you don’t need to use google messages for SMS? Or or the google phone app? Or gmail?
I guess I need to write an article about how to do advanced de-googling of your phone. Give me a few days.
