The late John Taylor Gatto has some great videos and books on the history of how we got here. Suffice it to say the goal of government monopolization of education was NEVER about educating anyone, but purely obedience training and propaganda. Now we have a system funded by force and violence, that serves to employ some of the lowest scoring folks in college (education majors), who have either fallen into teaching for the summers off or the government benefits or saw no other path in life. The system is more concerned with keeping the teachers moderately happy and voting for democrats, keeping administration well paid and voting for democrats, and keeping parents placate so they don’t realize what a giant failure the system is. The state university system is simply part of the bigger plan. Any real exposure of the truth would bring it all down. Thus the grade inflation, automatic grade advances, and proliferation of remedial classes in college attempting to patch the holes.
What is worse is that parents don’t care enough to pay attention all along to know that no real teaching or learning is happening.
I saw this when I instructed the EMS Diploma program at North Georgia Tech. I had to modify my instructing techniques to compensate for the student’s lack of education in math and reading. The students were handicapped by the school system’s process of “pass thru”.

You also have to factor in the “ethnic makeup” of Fresno County and other La Raza areas of California. I worked as a Peace Officer in SoCal for over 30 years and I am also a credentialed schoolteacher, which I did part time. When you have a “government school system” that is based on “pushing them on”, due to fear of parents’ backlash or administrative retaliation, the teacher is over a barrel. And most of today’s teachers are either clueless, woke, or both.
My issues, LATER ON, as a Sub centered around our “Native American” students, which are raised to hate White Men, and the “Mexican American” students who, as a group, are about as sharp as the edge of town. So, we now have a society and culture which slowly and surely mirrors that movie, IDIOCRACY. I am reminded of an old adage: NEVER TRY TO TEACH A PIG TO SING. IT WASTES YOUR TIME AND IT ANNOYS THE PIG.
I forgot, in all fairness, to add that I ran into plenty of White students who were also sharp as doorknobs and did not give a rat’s ass about anything. The “Whatever dude” meme was strong with them. Sad.
Indeed, regardless of what “benefit” you may have been given by genetic makeup, if you or your parents do NOT care, push you, set high expectations, etc. you will ultimately throw away that gift and it is very hard to recover. Learning of subjects is organized in a manner that requires foundations be laid down in order to support the next concept/lesson. Math is a prime example, but ultimately so is English, reading, etc.
If you put a loaded rifle in the hands of a chimp, no disrespect to a chimpanzees, it will figure out how to fire that rifle. That is what La Raza wants and that has been the plan for a very long time!
