  1. We can mitigate this somewhat.
    1) keep building a pantry.
    2) keep vehicle maintenance up
    3) pay down debts as you are able
    4) cut costs where applicable…(stop eating out so much!)
    5) make sure you have 2A items and spares for internals, more ammo than you think you need, cleaning kits, etc.
    6) IFAK & FFAK, extra supplies of needed meds
    7) get physically as strong and healthy as possible
    8) learn new skills like gardening or animal husbandry
    9) robust supply of mechanical/gardening/household tools and fasteners
    10) a network of likeminded people, i.e., church, neighbors, co-workers you can co-op with.

No one is coming to save us. We help each other, or persish.

Do not share what you are doing or what you have online. Per #10…vet those you want in your group closely. Sunshine neighbors may turn into nocturnal wolves when the chips fall.

Get right with God. Ask Him to direct your steps.

I’m sure smarter commentors and authors can add/modify/improve my list.

  2. They always forget the water. 😉

  3. A few trusted people working together can provide leadership to well vetted neighbors.

People in times of trouble seek leadership.

You can provide it OR someone else will as mob leadership shows.

Lone wolves get overrun and even crippled by sickness or a simple badly twisted ankle.

Trusted friends and trusted family and faith are more valuable than cash or gold.

“People in times of trouble seek leadership.” I agree. Keep in mind, however, to analyze your leaders. Here in my A/O, Kootenai County, ID a movement was started during the COVID Scamdemic spearheaded by a “retired USAF Brigadier General” and backed up by some obvious Karens. It was touted as an organization which was made up of local folks with skills in the event help was not on the way.
Being ex-Army and retired Peace Officer, I was instantly skeptical and cynical. My thoughts centered around the old saying: “Well who died and put you in charge?” I just had visions of this brass hat and a bunch of Karens and Beta Males telling me I had to do this or that for: “The greater good.” Remember Katrina.
My Tribe’s plans revolve around our immediate neighborhood. We keep lines of communication open and a watch the happenings posted on local social media sites. And we stay as silent and as aloof from others as we can. We monitor who is who in the neighborhood and the lines of drift. Bleib ubrig.
