    I remember when my aunt and uncle got involved in a doomsday, back to the land cult. My brother and I were the only ones who called out that they were involved with a cult. Even our own mom, bless her, thought we were being unreasonably judgemental for calling it a cult.

    After they sold their place and moved to Waco (not THAT cult, the one down the road from it) and bought some farmland, they realized they were in a cult after my aunt got caught wearing makeup inside her house and they wanted her ostracized and kicked out – abandoning her husband and children. Fortunately, the one wise thing my uncle did when they moved to Waco was buy land adjacent to the cult holdings and not move onto them. So, when they left, they didn’t lose everything.
