Every Institution. Every. Single. One.

I earned Eagle Scout as a lad. As an adult I became a Scoutmaster and my son earned his Eagle. I have five grandsons. None of them will become Eagle Scouts.

As Scoutmaster, my troop consisted of over fifty boys. Half of them came from broken homes with dad no longer in the picture day-to-day. Scouting was a place where we taught traditional values, preparedness, and helped boys become men … men who would be an asset to society. Then, Scouting suffered Leftist convergence. Female Scoutmasters and the recognition and admittance of homosexual boys and Scout leaders. The majority of Scout Troop charters (sponsors) were held by churches. Many of those churches withdrew their charters since the morally straight part of the Scout Oath was abandoned. Since the number of troops was significantly reduced, The Boy Scouts of America (BSA) decided to allow girls to join and changed the institutional name from Boy Scouts to Scouts in an effort to get their membership numbers back up. What could go wrong?

This is just one personal example of convergence to Leftist anti-Western ideology. Everything traditional must be destroyed. All male Virginia Military Institute converged to allow females. All female Mary Baldwin College (in my home town of Staunton, Virginia) converged to allow males. One sees it in sports (transgenders allowed in female events), the Church (gay and women pastors), entertainment (normalization of mixed race couples, homosexuality, lesbianism, ‘hook-up’ sex, crude language), and government (dual citizens, DEI, refusal to enforce immigration law).

Here are several examples from Vox Popoli.

Convergence is Anti-Freedom

Convergence is Anti-Education

Convergence is Anti-Christian

At the risk of sounding defeatist, we cannot restore our institutions any more than we can restore our Constitutional Republic. That ship has sailed. It has been well and truly proven with the election of Donald Trump that voting will not work, and revolution would, but for the fact that our average American citizen is too comfortable, apathetic, and not physically fit enough to do the job. So what are we left with?

The Fyrgen responded to this post by writing, “1000 times this. I’ve used the terms ‘Optional Collapse’ or ‘Voluntary Collapse’ before, to refer to my belief that the only civilisational collapse we’re likely to see is one that we choose individually, by opting out of society. Their civilisation will continue in some form, and in many ways will appear stronger than ever (due to AI-surveillance, automated-everything, and the slavish obedience of the masses).

This, dear reader, is the only way forward for those of us not wishing to become slaves. Opt out of society and initiate our own convergence in small pockets when and where we can. We were born free and can remain so, but no one said that would be easy.

  1. Decades ago while attending Boy Scouts in a small, “conservative” town provided insight to the early days of degradation to the once formidable institution. Was removed from such and joined the “Indian Guides” for which much was learned and put to good use in challenging circumstances.

“our average American citizen is too comfortable, apathetic, and not physically fit” points to our lessening condition. Additionally, one might add that bread and circus provides ample remedy to remain numb of that reality.

Pain, in all its forms, is a gifted tool of learning(for better or worse). Unfortunately and perhaps fortunately required for learning a peaceful and fruitful way of life away from where we find ourselves now.

    1. Pretty well the entirety of existence for most Americans is built around the avoidance of pain, at all costs. Whether it’s feeding addictions, making excuses and deflecting blame onto others for one’s failings, or just willful ignorance in avoiding harsh realities so that they can take another shot of soma and continue to live their delusions, most people have built and entire system of defenses in order to avoid (or just blunt) the feelings they get from unpleasantness. That’s human nature, to a point. But Americans (or what I prefer to call American’ts) have really cranked it up on steroids, especially in the last 30 years
