Can Anyone Explain?

Bragging about one’s own blockade being ineffective? Someone, explain that one.

That’s not long after he again claimed that Iran’s navy is completely destroyed, except for that one other second navy that is in fact not destroyed because it didn’t “pose a threat”:

  1. 98.2% of the drugs coming in by sea have been stopped? Doubtful. Does someone give him these numbers? Does he “misremember them” ? Is he just pulling them out of his ass?

I’m far from being any kind of strategic military whiz kid, but I’d say if our blockade is allowing free passage and at the same time preventing Iran from blocking free shipping for those they don’t like, then our blockade is working. Ships are getting through to deliver the much needed oil, LNG, etc. to those nations who are looking at winter weather in 6 or 7 months, and who need fertilizer to grow food for that same period. My understanding is that we are keeping other nations from closing the strait for the time being. I’ve never put much stock in percentages for evaluating anything as the numbers are all subject to input and interpretation. If Trump had said that the illegal drugs entering our country via sea transport is greatly reduced, someone would have complained that that was too vague.

    1. So you figure our warships standing off the Iranian coast by 800 -1000 kilometers is somehow forcing Iran to open the strait to Gulf nation sourced traffic supporting our allies and neutrals, yet at the same time Iran does nothing about our supposed blocking of ships going to and from their ports?
We allowed Japan and other American allies sanctions waivers to buy Iranian oil at Iranian ports and then leave the Gulf with it. Iran obviously allows that. We did that in the first place because we could not force open the Gulf with military power and oil is an international commodity and is priced on the international market. Keeping the price of oil under relative control has been a primary Trump concern since 28 Feb. Desperation in the economies and societies of our fuel poor friends in Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Philippines, and Australia to name a few made allowing sanctions relief on Iranian and Russian oil a political imperative for the US. That It is such a radical departure from the multi-decade sanctions regime on Iran and that it came in the middle of a shooting war should tell you something.
When sh*t for brains announced his blockade a few days ago, he stated that it would apply to all traffic through the SoH, to include the friendly nations we have waived sanctions enforcement on. So he was threatening to board and seize or sink the ships of allies who we “allowed” to procure Iranian oil just a few days prior.

  4. Pres. Trump should sell Trump Tollway Tokens (available from local participating destroyers!) to tankers navigating the Strait of Hormuz, they could be gold and shiny with his image on the obverse side and the Star of David on the reverse side……
