The only way to have a moral country is to have moral people in positions of leadership. The only way for a country to have moral leadership is for its people to be moral. The only way for a person to be truly moral (righteous) is for them to be born again by faith in Jesus Christ. Without Jesus, evil reigns within us.
The United States approves the murder of the innocent because, as a nation, we have rejected the Bible and the Son of God, Jesus Christ.
Most normal people, including people in government, have some form of moral belief system, some form of ideology; be that religious, nationalistic, or what have you. Therefore, the greed and lust for power of the owners and controllers of global financialized capital must be clothed in moral or patriotic rationales. Ex. The flag. The red, white, and blue. The Pledge, the Constitution. The 250 anniversary of America in July. Oh, say can you see….
Absolutely correct and your insight is right on target. Any nation that rejects Christ and his Holy Word is a nation that will rot internally and fall into wicked debauchery and judgement will befall it, just as many other nations in the past which rejected him have fallen into total collapse. This is where we have been headed for a very long time
^^^THIS^^^. In 1973 when we legalized the murder of innocent, unborn American citizens, the die was cast. And it has been a toboggan ride downhill into more corruption, depravity, and syphilitic thinking ever since. One may argue it all started with the murder of JFK, and the start of LBJ’s profit-making venture with the VN war. Cynicism, mistrust, and anger towards the FEDGOV Leviathan have been rampant ever since.
However, I have viewed snippets on Breitbart and other sites about the amount of people in this country who are part of a nascent Christian revival and are being baptized and coming to Christ at various places around the country. So maybe all is not lost. At this point in time, Pastor Guest, I turn my mind and heart to the words written in Psalm 37. And I also focus on Proverbs 27:12. Bleib ubrig.
Psalm 37 is a great encouragement in this present evil world.
Those who believe God take heed to Proverbs 27:12 .
You can’t legislate morality, it comes from The People. The logic of this relationship is inverted in the article – a Moral People will have moral leaders. That we don’t, and tolerate it (what with all the Bill of Rights and stuff the Founding Fathers gave us for JUST THIS VERY CIRCUMSTANCE), says more about our population of citizens than anything else.
Lots of analogies come to mind, but good times do create soft men….
Thats what the 4th Turning is all about. Our children will suffer the fire and hardship of hard times that will forge them into hard men.
All laws are the legislation of someone’s morality, but law cannot change the heart. That can only be done by God’s grace.
