If you parade the WSO around here they will likely get him here. Aviators remain anonymous in situations like that. Also, if you are an aviator bombing the snot out of a place and you have to eject, even if you are injured you would gimp like crazy to get away, because it wouldn’t be so great to fall into their hands as they are not happy with you at all.
Having said that, that happening near the strategic nuclear site is very interesting. It may be that the strike eagle was bombing it when it got shot down, and/or perhaps all those ground guys retrieved something the US didn’t want the Iranians to have.
I read that they were using some type of electro-optical man pad or sam. You simply can’t get rid of all of those, and there is always the chance of getting shot down in war. Always.
Setting aside the possibility that there were 2 objectives for that mad scramble of men and equipment, and focusing on just the rescue effort…
We lose an F-15 to a local with a MANPAD. $2000 vs $30 million.
Then we lose 2 C-130s and a couple (4?) Little Birds because they got stuck in the sand. That is close to $300 MILLION. The story is a full of holes as those fancy airframes.
Glad we got the pilots out, but are we winning yet? In the global competition for complete idiocy, maybe.

When Trump says these things about Iran: “…they don’t have Triple-A” etc. it is because Pistol Pete is whispering these lies in his ears. Trump cannot possibly come to this kind of thinking on his own. But to quote that old saying: “Show me who you are with, and I will tell you who you are.”

His administration will crash and burn in short order. The Socialist-Abortion Party will win big in the midterms. Amerika ist verloren. Bleib ubrig.
