Evil attracts evil. All humans have free will to follow their conscience, which has the law of God written on our hearts. This is what happened in Babylon.
As for me and my house, I choose to follow God and pray for His guidance only. I cannot save humanity from itself. God never asked me to do that. In this particular passage, we see the aftermath of Babylon’s destruction. The once bustling city now lies in ruins, with smoke rising from the rubble. Only gods people will have the holy spirit in them for protection during these times.
