  1. Amen. Amen. Amen. Took a lifetime to learn the lessons.

  2. David, thank you for this. I see myself, my siblings, some of my “friends” and most distressful my spouse in most of the 5 examples. I will never put away my spouse because it would disappoint Jesus, but it has been hard. I am reevaluating my relationships with my local “friends.” I understand the times ahead and the mantra you dont have enough food, guns, ammo, water and hard friends. I am mostly good on the first 4 but I really need to work on the last one.

it’s a bit confusing, isn’t it? On the one hand you need friends you can count on, but on the other you’re not supposed to talk about your plans or preps or… well, other things.
OPSEC vs tribe…. a difficult balance to strike.
Still working on it, since most people can’t be trusted with a burned-out book of matches.

    Very true, this video.
It is a difficult and painful lesson that I have had to learn. Oftentimes the people that abuse and use us in these ways are the people closest to us..the people whom we care the most about..the people in whom we have invested the most of ourselves and of our resources. Oftentimes close family members.
If allowed to continue long enough these abusive relationships will drain us of our physical resources. More tragically, those improper relationships will rob us of the love, joy, and peace that we should be experiencing and replace it with stress, anguish, disappointment and hopelessness. Worst of all, as the video indicates, the destructive effect on us can prevent us from fulfilling God’s plan for our own lives.
When such a relationship has a long term and consistently detrimental effect on us while we are seeing no change in the attitude, lifestyle, or modus operandi of the other person, it is time to cut our loses and run.
Otherwise it is like trying to save an hysterical drowning person…Not only will they not allow themselves to be saved, but will drag you down with them.
“Go from the presence of a foolish man, when thou perceivest not in him the lips of knowledge. The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way: but the folly of fools is deceit.” Proverbs 14: 7-8

  4. Very interesting. I’ll be more observant of the people I meet, work with and those whom I call friends. It might become a little dicey in my little circle of friends, acquaintances and family members and I’ll also review myself.

  5. I actually saw this as subtly Anti-Gospel.
Christ knew all 10 lepers, knew 9 would reject, but still healed. We are called to love, to pour out our lives as living sacrifices to our living and reigning Lord Jesus. He equally showed honor and kindness to Judas knowing He would be betrayed by him. Our kindness to the undeserving could be the catalyst to their repentance, “heaping coals of fire” and God’s response to those of us who do, “The Lord shall reward thee”. As this video said at the end, it takes much wisdom, God’s wisdom, walking with Christ, in the Spirit to be guided when to say No and when to give selflessly, willing if necessary to be taken advantage of.
I believe the key is walking with Christ, allowing His Word to dwell in us richly, and then letting Him lead in each circumstance that He brings our way.
