Middle East US Bases

Update:

Grok analysis of post on 3/25:

The post claims, citing The New York Times, that most of 13 U.S. military bases in the Middle East are destroyed and uninhabitable, with Kuwait bases suffering the worst damage from Iranian strikes, accompanied by an aerial photo of a desert base setup.

NYT reporting confirms damage to at least 11 U.S. bases and 17 sites overall from Iranian attacks since early March 2026, including multiple Kuwait facilities like Ali Al Salem and Camp Buehring hit repeatedly with building and radar destruction, but describes impacts as severe yet repairable, not total uninhabitability.

In the escalating U.S.-Iran conflict tied to the U.S.-Israeli war, about 40,000 U.S. troops have relocated from damaged sites to hotels and remote operations, per NYT analysis, highlighting vulnerabilities in regional air defenses and raising questions on U.S. strategic preparedness.

Grok analysis on 3/26:

The X post by @Megatron_ron claims a New York Times report confirms most of 13 US bases in the Middle East were destroyed by Iran, rendering them uninhabitable especially in Kuwait, amid ongoing conflict.

NYT articles describe Iranian strikes damaging multiple US sites (at least 11-17), forcing troops to operate remotely from hotels and offices, but the post exaggerates “destroyed and empty” while using a misleading 1993 Mogadishu photo.

High engagement reflects polarized views on US military posture, with replies debating escalation outcomes and calls to withdraw forces from the region.

Why the picture of Mogadishu? Does someone need geography lessons?

      Wars, and rumours of wars?

    2. The government asked the commercial satellite operators to delay all overhead photography in the region for at least 2 weeks. While this is spun as a method to blind the Iranians, they get what they want in that respect from their allies. What that really does is keep the rest of the World and Americans in particular from seeing the extent of the damage the IRBM and drone campaign is doing to these bases in the region. I would not be surprised if the 2 week delay was extended indefinitely. They knowingly or not, attached a photo to the story that approximates what they presume these bases look like.

    3. Mogadishu…that’s the other twin city with St. Paul….right??

      1. See update in this post. Is the fog of war just propaganda at every level?

Yes, it is – both. The fog is unavoidable due to the dynamically kinetic nature of conflict. The propaganda is from every country based on their own motivations. As for our bases and installations being hit by Iranian strikes, of course they were. I don’t give the NY Slimes any veracity, but I would be astounded if the Persians didn’t hit what they could reach…

  2. Gee, that’s too bad. Americans are not allowed to see the damage caused by the IRBM. Trump, you are fantastic! You and Bibi need a golden award for bombing Iran twice during “negotiations.” Now the entire world suffers due to your actions. USA! USA! Trump YOU killed our troops. Your stupidity killed our troops. MAGA!

    1. Interesting levels of lies going on here:

On one side we have the NYT that is about as trustworthy as any other Talmudic owned media.

And on the other side we have AI that has rules built in to protect the same Talmudic types.

An angle that few have talked about is that this war is forcing the War Jews and Media Jews to fight one another. The result? Humorously incoherent nonsense and no real source of truth.

Thirteen US bases. Billions of our dollars up in smoke! I have no words.

    1. Me neither. There is no rule of law. They do what they want with the blessings of Congress.
