Most people aren’t looking past the price at the gas pump. Few realize that when the price of fuel goes up, the price of everything goes up. They also have not considered that when fuel runs out, everything runs out.
I’ve been hammering this point with a couple of people I know who are normiecon, fox news swilling, rah rah America types who think “we” are winning this war, and everything is going to be golden again in short order. But that they are long time friends, I’d not even be trying. It is like talking to a brick wall, and I’ve already dialed back significantly on my willingness have any conversation with them that touches on politics. I should probably just cut them off all together, as the hour approaches where people like me will have to make the decision to forsake such fools entirely, or end up getting dragged down with them. Really, the type who think like they do are as lost, obtuse and recalcitrant in their views as the libtards we like to point at, while making light of their outrageous delusions.

There are 2 types of people in the world: Those who LOVE the truth; and Those who do not.
For me, it does not usually take long to discern which type of person I am communicating with:
A person who LOVES THE TRUTH , upon hearing/reading it, will receive it for what it is, will cling to it, and will not be dissuaded from it though they be outnumbered 100 to 1 and are persecuted accordingly.
The person who chooses not the LOVE OF THE TRUTH is quite different. Upon hearing/reading it that person may somewhere deep inside realize that it is the truth. However, they will not receive it, will not confess it, will not be inconvenienced for it, will not stand up for it, and certainly will not endure persecution for it.
Indeed, that is the perfect encapsulation of what we see. I don’t know why I even waste time and effort anymore trying to reach those who will not see or hear the truth. It is the same now as it was with COVID, NPC’S with their preprogrammed taking points, which they spit out in refutation to anything that challenges what they believe. That they cannot discern even the near term downstream effects of $4/gal gas, $5/gal diesel, and a shortage of fertilizer for the current planting season (as well as the increased cost of what fertilizer is available) still remains mind boggling to me.
High gas prices are an observable and undeniable reality biting them personally in the ass right now, today. And all they can say to that is “hey, short term pain for long term gain”. I really am at the point of just wanting to beat them into submission for being such morons.
