To intercept a hypersonic missile–the interceptor has to travel at least twice the speed of the incoming target and be able to adjust in real time to the new course of the target. So if the Iranian missile is coming in at Mach 10–then the interceptor has to travel at Mach 20 at least (impossible to do so because of air friction–and because of mechanical stress on the airframe and computer reaction times). This is why the hypersonic is currently an unbeatable weapon.
