  1. Having a passphrase or safeword among close family is a very good idea. Especially any elderly (often the most likely to be targetted).
Could be as simple as a known question/answer. How’s Bob’s car doing? ‘He got it fixed’ means its all ok, ‘still in the shop’ is an alert. Bob shouldn’t be the name of a real person in your orbit.

  2. I wouldn’t trust anything that has to do with the demonic a.I. or any other system they are coming up with, especially a few years down the road the commie Chinese government get there hands on it and have your voice print and can do anything they want with it. many companies have the ability now and its far too dangerous in my eyes.

    1. Yeah, it is being claimed this doesn’t send one’s data to “the cloud”, and for now that may even be true. But these tech outfits are well known by now to subscribe to the Darth Vader business fundamental: “I’ve altered the deal, pray I don’t alter it any further.”. In other words, current assurances are no guarantee of future safety.

  3. The Terminator seemed bad….what they have unleashed will likely be FAR, FAR worse.

  4. THIS is why I never, EVER answer the phone if I don’t know for certain who is calling. Even caller-id can be spoofed, and it is regularly.

There’s a definite advantage to not knowing anyone who wants to talk to me in the first place…

    1. Or knows that you won’t be coughing up any money to bail them out. LOL

    2. Interesting you should mention Caller ID, which has turned into a bad joke. The very parties that we would want to pre-screen before answering a call have been given the ability to spoof the data displayed on the receiving end at will. Once again, a simple solution to a long running problem that would have benefited a lot of people has been intentionally screwed up, and it’s usefulness largely destroyed. Funny how that always happens, isn’t it?

  5. Also to note if have a personalized greeting for you phone voice mail they can get all they need from that. They can get copies of voice, pictures and video from you phone stored in the cloud. Also to note it’s the time of the year for IRS scams so be careful folks.
