Incredibly Bizarre

New York City is signing up people to shovel snow for the upcoming blizzard. And they are requiring ID in order to sign up. I wonder if the work day will start when they play the Muslim call for prayer?

From Grok:

Municipalities like New York City hire temporary “emergency snow shovelers” during major storms to clear public spaces such as bus stops, crosswalks, fire hydrants, and step streets. Pay starts at $19.14 per hour and rises to $28.71 per hour after 40 hours in a week.

This is a paid gig, not volunteer work, and requires registration at a local DSNY garage with ID and photos.

Payments are issued by check, typically within 4–6 weeks (though it can take up to 12 weeks).

  1. Asking residents to help shovel snow in NYC ? May I humbly that Sir Zohran the Mendacious lead by example. He has provided historical examples of his knowledge of shoveling material, but snow, it was not !

  2. Hahahahahaha!

Oh, NYC. You are getting it good, and hard!!!

Suddenly showing ID to shovel snow isn’t racist—but showing ID to vote is racist.

  4. I’d suggest the mayor start fashioning goats out of the snow piles, and then melt them off by..uh, actually, nevermind. He can call his group of roving shovel pushers the “Citizen’s Collective ‘Ccumulation Party”. After they’ve been properly vetted, naturally.

I’m just going to stand over, while pointing and laughing at NYC. This is going to be some quality entertainment
