There are very very few people left alive who personally remember the horrors of WWII. And humans are a inherently violent, warlike culture. So it’s no surprise that the people now in power who have never actually experienced what total war is like are considering it.
Nuclear capable “Tomahawks” to Ukraine…. the Russian will have to think any launch is a nuclear threat. This is the US declaring nuclear war on Russia with plausible deniability. What could possibly go wrong, after Putin told trump the delivery of “Tomahawks” would destroy US/Russian diplomacy.
