I have to figure that high ranking Iranian officials are relishing this situation, as they watch Trump bumble around like a combination of an abject moron and caged animal. Why would they kill him, when they can simply allow him to go on doing enormous damage to the US economy and the state of it’s military.

I’ll co-sign the above take. Yes, muzzies are congenital liars (and lots of other undesirable things), but that doesn’t mean he’s wrong in this particular case. Trump has bought himself a pig in a poke in pursuing this “war”, and the worst of the damage to come from this hasn’t even hit us yet. Expect things to get far worse into the end of the year, as the economic impact really starts to stack up. And God knows what military impact will be suffered, between this mess and Ukraine, the FUSA is owed a lot of pain by it adversaries.

Regarding your take on the midterms, yes, the dems taking power makes it worse, only because they increase the rate of destruction. But keeping the republicant’s in place simply brings us to our ultimate ruination at a slightly slower rate than the alternative. And the Delta between them continues to shrink over time, anyway. Which is why voting is useless. It’s like the chemotherapy that keeps you alive (and in misery) for a year, versus the choice to just forego treatment, that means you are dead in 6 months. Neither is a solution to the problem.
