The sun has long since passed its highest point. The days are slowly getting shorter and the fields are bearing what has been patiently allowed to grow over the past few months.
Lammas is the festival of the first harvest.
For our ancestors, this was a time of deep gratitude. With the first cut through the ripe grain, a new phase in the year began. They took only what the earth willingly gave and honored the forces of nature that made life possible.
But Lammas doesn’t just remind us of the harvest in the fields.
It invites us to look within.
What seeds have you planted this year?
Which thoughts, decisions and actions now bear fruit?
And what, like the cut grain, is allowed to reach its natural conclusion?
Nature never stands still. Everything grows, matures, passes away and finally returns to the eternal cycle. This is precisely where their wisdom lies.
When you walk through the forest and meadows today, feel the warm wind, smell the ripe grain and consciously absorb the power of this time. Give thanks for what you have been given – not just what is visible, but also for the experiences that have made you stronger.
For true abundance is not only found in what we possess, but in what we have become.
May Lammas remind you to honor your roots, accept the earth’s gifts with respect and walk the path into the darker half of the year with a clear heart.
Nature speaks to those who are willing to listen.
