Bibi must be very upset.
It would appear he isn’t thinking, but acting upon mere impulse; likely steered by the usual (((external influence))). I don’t know if the pressure is being brought to bear solely by those who contributed “bigly” to his campaign (Adelson, cough cough) or if there really are Epstein-level crimes being held over him like a sword of Damocles, but the number if times he has now capitulated, only to later reassert the need to go whole hog on this thing is the most ridiculous case of political whiplash we’ve seen this decade.
it’s a hell of a way to run a country. This entire snafu has gotten so outrageously stupid for the repeated flip flops, and public pronouncements of blatant falsehoods regarding our purported successes at disarming Iran (which were obviously never true, given their continued ability to inflict real damage by striking high value targets with precision).
No “ammo”? Seems I watched a video about the DEW that uses a laser beam that recharges quickly thus never running out of “ammo”. But then again that could end this war quickly and investors would lose money.
The Patriots have always been a poor performer, especially at that price tag. They can hit an aircraft and work well enough on drones or early missiles, but they are useless against more advanced missiles. I read a day or 2 ago that DOD are ordering batches of older generation Patriot PAC2 which they have not used in years as some kind of stopgap.
Iran meanwhile has fielded better and better missiles as the war goes along. It is clear that they have missile dominance over whatever they can reach in IRBM range. That range extends to places like Bulgaria where our tanker aircraft that keep the air bridge and the war going were moved a few days ago after Bulgarian approval. Iran reminded Bulgaria and Britain too that hosting the American air bridge makes them combatants and targets. Britain is probably out of range, but Bulgaria is not, and there were memos of denial and dismissal issued in those capitals.
Trump and the Pentagon are like Goering in the Battle of Britain, thrashing around with different tactics and targeting schemes before really giving each one in turn a chance to work. Sometimes none of the available options will work anyway, which is the case here. That impatience and grasping at an instant solution is obvious to the Iranians and confirms that they have a sound plan for victory if they stick to it.

I’m not one to put any stock in the pronouncements of the NYT, but is it not painfully apparent that Trump and his lackeys are thrashing about wildly with no real strategy by the concerned on again, off again nature of his approach so far?
It does nothing to instill confidence, and meanwhile, Iran is still hitting high value targets all over the region, and with decent precision. So, their offensive capabilities remain intact, and their control of the SOH remains unchanged, at least enough that the FUSA isn’t doing diddly squat to alleviate the issue of oil being marooned while awaiting passage that, as of now, is nowhere on the horizon.
It is painfully obvious the FUSA (with Trump at the helm) is not operating from a position of strength here, and has no good options to exit this mess now without permanently leaving passage of oil through the straight permanently compromised, versus what is was before Trump foolishly chose to kick this whole thing off months ago. The knock on effects of that bottleneck are going to be increasingly severe.
