You can find gas down there under $3. I was there yesterday.
You can safely store fresh gas for a month, pour some Pri-G or other fuel stabilizer, 3-6 months no problem. Wouldn’t hurt to buy and hold for a couple weeks. You’ll know by then if we’re going to have troubles.
I did some checking and this does not seem to be the case it maybe in one town but not in Texas as a whole.
Similar $50 limits are a standard anti-fraud pre-authorization used by stations and card networks for pay-at-the-pump sales, while Texas gas prices have recently declined amid falling oil costs.

MidIands of SC, just filled my Tahoe with a debit card: $71.02 at an IGA (unbranded) station. It’s interesting because this station used to have a limit on purchases.
$3.21 today here in N. Texas, with my grocery card I can get a dime or twenty cents off that if I have enough points. I filled up for $3.03 two days ago
Paid $3.65 today, no limits. Maybe GA is somehow “freer?” LOL Very soon they will push us all too far…..
