Here’s what creates REAL ACCOUNTABILITY:
1. HOMESCHOOL. Do not allow the government access to your precious child.
2. Work to rid the state of the Constitutional provisions and other governmental structures that support, fund, and maintain the existence of the government day prison monopoly schools.
3. Support candidates who will also work to restore the free market as the ONLY provider of educational services in addition to homeschooling.
I agree, that for some folks thats the best option. The lowest common denominator however, is pretty low. And theres lots of em. What to do? What to do?! One size fits all ain’t working, you’re right. Every kid gets the lowest denominator because, equity means not calling a spade a spade.
A free market would/could naturally include charity schools, ones fully sponsored by wealthy businesses, voluntarily-funded scholarships, and plenty more. And the fact that private schools currently charge exorbitant amounts per child or the government schools WASTE exorbitant amounts per child does NOT mean that a sound education could not be delivered for FAR, FAR less in a market unencumbered by government BS. Competition would naturally bring down prices once EVERYONE was competing in the same marketplace. Perfect? NO. But at least the children of parents who actually care, will finally be able to get a good education and NOT have to be pulled down by those who don’t.
This issue is not just in NC. Here in the Gem State, I heard about it firsthand when I briefly worked as a “Teacher’s Aide” at a government HS in Kootenai County. The heavy-duty tranquilizer Kolnopin was the drug of choice for elementary school teachers coping with their undisciplined brats and undisciplined parents. My source of information was very close to the problem.
Then, to top that off, a local school Principal ate his handgun over what was described as a “pain killer addiction”. But the word on the street was he was getting his Oxy from a student source and got caught. As Mr. Liberty posted above: HOMESCHOOL. Get your children and grandchildren out of the clutches of the cultural Marxists who run Amerika’s “Public School System.” Bleib ubrig.
