Why People Fight a War Is the Key

Americans will not fight a war for Israel regardless of what Washington believes. Especially one where our politicians are blackmailed and compensated by Israel. Iran is fighting the Great Satan and Israel. They have a reason to fight and are willing to die for their country, people and religion.

  1. Appalachian Renegades powerful post today. We are here. We must face the fall of America. We must face ourselves. Each one of us ignored the gift given to us by our Founding Fathers. We blew it. Each one of us. Me, too. Refuse to fight in this war forced upon us by the Great Satan and his minions. We must get down on our knees. What is in store for us is The Great Suffering. Who bombed Vietnam 864,000 times? Answer this question. Radical acceptance of where we are right now is the key. We better pray real hard. Deep gratitude for this powerful post.

  2. Rolling Thunder did fail. It ran from 1965 to the 1968 bombing pause. The Linebacker2 operation was a different story though and I suspect this person might be a bit biased, though her wider point on the war is correct. The fact is North Vietnam walked out of the peace talks in Paris and Nixon ordered Linebacker2 as a response. This included the mining of Haiphong Harbor to interdict Soviet maritime resupply and the lifting of all restrictions on bombing that city, Hanoi, and other previously restricted sanctuaries in North Vietnam came under sustained air attack for the first time in the war. North Vietnam had the most intense air defense system in the world at that time and there were some serious losses for the B-52 and other aircraft, but tactics were adjusted and the missions continued for a couple of weeks. At the end, the intensity of the campaign combined with the maritime interdiction resulted in the North Vietnamese running out of SAM missiles and they immediately returned to Paris and agreed to the same principles they had walked out over just a few weeks earlier.
Make no mistake, the United States wanted out of the war and these events did not change any of that. What was accomplished was that the US would be allowed to withdraw from the war after the January 1973 ceasefire came into effect. Our position was not strong enough to demand removal of NVA units from South Vietnamese territory though, and they simply waited for us to get out and broke to ceasefire 2 years later. The accord called for the US to return, at least with air power if North Vietnam broke the agreement. Watergate took down Nixon, Ford elected to stay out of it, and Congress stopped funding South Vietnam in 1974. That was about the end of it.

    1. And then capitalism came to Vietnam and America learned ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

      1. Yeah, I hear they are very nice people and there is very little resentment toward Americans. Certainly, a beautiful country and it is growing so fast that visiting American veterans are shocked by the development in areas that were just boondocks when they fought there 55 years ago. Good for them.

Thank you, sir. I am old enough to remember (and participated) in our SE Asia “Police Action”. That corrupt, evil war criminal LBJ bragged that our military “…can’t bomb a shithouse without my say-so.” That is what prolonged things until Linebacker 2.
Barry Goldwater, who was soundly defeated by LBJ in 1964 opined in later years if he had been elected: “…there wouldn’t have been enough of that country left to grow rice on.” Hindsight for sure, but accurate.
Ironically, Barry lost because the MSM painted him as a warmonger and the sheeple believed it.
It is only by God’s Grace that my name is not chiseled on the Black Granite Wall in DC. When I look at the cost and futility of it all, I now understand the lyrics to a song popular during that terrible time: “We’re waist deep in the Big Muddy and the big fool says press on.” The Big Orange Fool is about to get us into a nuclear conflict. Plan accordingly.

  3. The impact of JFKs assassination and the message it sent (mostly to future presidents), continues to destroy our nation today.
