We gave that base back to Iraq many years ago.
Victoria Base, formerly Camp Victory, was transferred to Iraqi control in 2011 but retains U.S. diplomatic and logistics functions with limited personnel; the attack caused no confirmed American casualties but highlights vulnerabilities in residual U.S. presence, as NATO withdrew from Iraq earlier that day citing security risks.
