What do you think happens next? Is Israel even in this war anymore?
The best course of action would be for Trump to pull out of the Persian Gulf and concentrate on the Western Hemisphere. We have enough oil, natural gas and natural resources for most of our needs in this hemisphere. Computer chips, fertilizer and REEs will be a concern until we build our manufacturing base to where it should have always been.
I doubt that course will be followed.

Maybe this will turn Trump around to taking care of our issues at home, as he promised, and let the middle east sink or swim on its own.
Having the straits closed hits the EU as bad if not worse than the US. This closing puts them in a pickle whether they wanted it or not. If they do not help the oil get through with escorts, etc., then they will bear much of the brunt of the price increase on their already fragile economies. Perhaps it should be called the ‘art of the pickle deal.’
The fact it was stupid to start a dust up with Iran in itself notwithstanding, the EU have not been reliable allies for quite a while now. And their obvious distaste for the orange man (who is apparently Hitler) just meant they were going to be even less reliable “partners” than usual. As Old Maine Farmer has pointed out, the strait being shut hurts Europe and Asia more than it does the US. Not that I expect that would change Europe’s position on this, as they have a long history of shooting themselves in the ass.

What we’re we thinking with this war? Did the political zipper-heads surrounding Trump actually believe that these euro-fagalas would jump in and support this conflict? And you know it was the ass-wipe, Neo-cons who convinced him that it would all work out–right?! This is just another replay of the Covid-fiasco, where these burrowed in rats in government convinced him that it was ‘biblical’ in nature… and so he went full retard on their recommendations, down to masks and social distancing. Even to the point of deploying our two hospital ships (unused BTW) and the purchase of tens of thousands of respirators (largely unused and now dumped into landfills). Trump is surrounded by Neo-Isra-shills who are on the direct payroll (or blackmailed) by Israel and their intelligence services. I can imagine the cooked-up content of these power-point presentations prior to this war. The assurances. The estimates. And Trump nodding like a dashboard bobble head. And now it’s a full deployment of pro-war propaganda on Fox news and the usual suspects–who are selling the concept of this war like steak knives on QVC. But I think Trump has realized the magnitude of this situation–hopefully. And hopefully he is going to pull out of this fiasco as soon as possible.
Are you referring to respirators or ventilators as being largely unused? I ca assure you the ventilators were used, at least at my wife’s hospital. They earned $36K for each patient simply placed on the ventilators.
It will be interesting to see how they respond if Russia decides it wants to move westward. President Trump then says “This is not America’s war. You’re on your own.”

We need to be out of NATO and the UN YESTERDAY. We need to concentrate on OUR hemisphere (and yes, I mean North AND South America), and we need to be able to produce anything and everything that we now get from Taiwan and everywhere else.
Quite frankly, if we walked away from the rest of the world, the rest of the world would collapse. So be it… they deserve it.
Hopefully Putin will cut the EU off of natgas at the same time. Iran will let the Chinese and Indians through. We have enough oil and our pump prices should not be going up. We could probably supply Japan also. NATO is a useless relic that should be discarded. We need to let the Europeans go their own way.
Trump earned this scorn all by himself. I can’t help but be reminded of so many Sinatra songs, particularly “My Way”. Gotta love it when people try to put some deeper meaning into acts of idiocy. Forest Gump was right, stupid is as stupid does. When the nukes start to fall I can just hear them die hard fools say, see how cool it is now, it was Trumps plan all along to conquer global warming.
I know its cool to dis Trump; I think Trump is playing the EU, He asked for their help (tested them) which would not be much at all, they all declined. When Russia goes on their next major Ukie attack, Trump will make the EU pay.
