  1. Several commenters are calling out his $8.6 trillion figure as poppycock, quoting figures of a little more than $1 trillion. Google tells me just now $1.1 to 1.2 trillion. This X post appears to be fake news, complete bullshit.

    1. Look at the title of this post. If Japan starts dumping USTs to save their economy, it would collapse the USD. This scenario was detailed in the book The Debt Bomb by Sen. Tom Coburn.

  2. I always here folks talking about massive dumping, etc. or on Fox Business when Varney says “the market is dropping because everyone is selling….”

If NOBODY BUYS, NOBODY GETS TO SELL. And everyone can’t be just “selling” if nobody is buying.

Yes, they could start dumping and NOT care about the price, thus encouraging a lot of selling cheap. But THEY need the money too, and at some point folks will catch on and since many already question the value of US Treasuries….

    Anyway, just some thoughts.

But the debtor is always the slave to those who hold his debt.

Japan needs America. Their real threat is the Chinamen. I will believe financial meltdown when I see it.
