Are the benefits worth AI? The electric utilities are raping us. The data centers are monopolizing our water and now AI is taking control of the chip and semiconductor industry.
Now factor in a world war at the behest of Israel. China allies itself with Iran and invades Taiwan. How will this impact the defensive capabilities of the West with no silver, no chips, no semiconductors and no rare earth elements?

“Let it fall down, let it fall down, let it all fall down.” – H/T to James Taylor. So, all of the electronic toys and devices of the sheeple, normies, cucks, Mall Zombies, and government remoras are in jeopardy. Give me a break! Maybe if the lifestyle of the Great Unwashed does a time travel reset to 1950, they will discover how to fend for themselves. I doubt it. Life is a vale of tears.
I kind of agree. There is a benefit in this. At least as goes it’s likely impact on this disgusting societal tendency towards wastefulness and disposability of computers and related devices. I grew up during the emergence of personal computers, and they were expensive as all hell. Once purchased, one upgraded and continued using the same rig for as long as possible to get the most out of the investment.
Once it all became commoditized, not only did the quality suffer, but it all became throw away junk in short order. This mindset needs to be changed, and as Dweezil said above, we really need to break the dependence on tech for our own good anyway. Maybe this will be a step in that direction. This escalation of pricing for computer components is also part and parcel of the fact that AI is a huge bubble, and will eventually blow up with spectacularly destructive results.
