But the Republicans Say Nothing

No. The map in that post is not accurate.

It shows Texas in 2026 as almost entirely light blue (with some darker blue/purple areas), implying a near-total Democratic county sweep. That does not match the actual results.

What the results show

Democrats won the major statewide races on November 3, 2026:

At the county level, however, the picture is very different:

The large majority of counties (especially rural ones) stayed Republican. Democrats won because they carried the big population centers (Harris, Dallas, Tarrant, Bexar, Travis, Collin, Denton, and others) by large margins, plus some border counties. Those high-population counties provided enough votes for statewide victories even while most of the state’s land area remained red.

An accurate county-level map of the 2026 gubernatorial race (sourced from Texas Secretary of State data) is predominantly red, with blue concentrated in urban and some South Texas/border areas—very similar in pattern to prior elections, just with stronger Democratic margins in the places they already competed well.

The post’s 2026 panel exaggerates the shift dramatically compared with the 2016–2024 panels and does not reflect the official county results.
