Until the houthi’s are wiped from the face of the planet, the peace and stability efforts will stall. Let’s not forget that these factions (Sunni, Shiite, houthi’s, etc) have been fighting forever. Something drastic and HUGE must happen to stabilize oil, gas and additional exports.

it was inevitable that other countries would be drawn in. It’s not as if they were going. To stand down and take a pounding from Iranian an houthi attacks forever. Now that they are choosing to counter attack, there will be further escalation until the houthis are wiped out, and Iran is brought to submission. Neither of which will come easily, so this looks to be a long term crisis.
