  1. 1. People need to really truly grok what you said in the title. They still do not.

    2. Where’s RFK Jr.? Do I not understand what he is in charge of and who works underneath him?

    1. Last heard RFK, Jr. was on the beach in TelAviv with Jeffery Epstien.

    2. Bracken talks about why armies want their enemies to see them as merciful, to encourage them to surrender.

He also talks about why armies want their enemies to see them as merciless, to encourage their *enemies* to be merciless, to discourage their *own* soldiers *not* so surrender.

They must weigh which they think is the greater risk.

When they *show* us that they want us dead, they take surrender off the table. Fighting… to the death even… becomes the only option, *even* if failure is a mathematical fact.

  2. We are in the realm of the absurd, when here in 2026 I can drive around the suburbs and still see the electronic sign boards at multiple Walgreens and CVS stores pimping COVID 19 screenings and shots. These messages were programmed in for display going on 6 years ago, and have never been changed in all that time. I almost think they forgot how to change the message, it’s been so long the store staff has probably turned over multiple times by now. I can’t imagine there is any money still to be made on that crap, but they keep right on advertising it.

The Other Joe Blow (from Texas).

Played over the loud speakers in the local Albertson’s yesterday.

They nearly needed clean up on aisle 7 as I barely kept lunch down.

      1. Not too long ago, I came across the remnants of a “social distancing” floor sticker in a grocery store that had apparently been covered for some time by a free standing merchandise display, which I suppose had prevented it’s removal. Just seeing it pissed me off. All the worthless, performative garbage of that time still angers me. all the more because I know the masses learned nothing from the experience, and will commit the same screw ups again, given the opportunity.

  3. Saw a hilarious display in the local CVS entrance. They had skeletons holding up the signs for the new flu shots and new covid booster. Not sure if it was intentional or just another NPC flub.

    1. That’s the closest they’ve gotten to truthful advertising. Some years ago, my closest Walgreens still had a pedestal sign at the street that used the old theater Marquis style slide in lettering. There were two lines on each side. In the week leasing up to mother’s day, they’d been running a sale on Pepsi 2 litres, and Lays chips. So, the sign showed Pepsi pricing on the top line, and Lays pricing in the bottom line. Come the morning of mothers day, someone made a quick change such that the sign now read:

      REMEMBER MOTHER
      LAYS 2/$5

I didn’t have a smart phone at the time, and so missed an opportunity to get a picture of it. When I drove by there again later in the day, the bottom line had been removed. I surmise someone lodged a complaint.
