My wife made an observation shortly after the prime Covid BS subsided. She had worked for many years remotely in our home and used to have power outages on a regular basis. Sometimes it was a car hitting a power pole near our home, sometimes a tree falling in the wind, but they were not an uncommon thing. She noted that during Covid she does not remember even a single outage for any reason. Trap everyone at home doing work and then make sure it works as best as possible?? It won’t affect the data centers, as they have massive automatic backup gensets that mere mortals cannot afford. Everyone else can just piss off and accept the inconvenience of third world standard of routine utility failures.
