Sadly, one cannot simply walk away from an evil in constant pursuit.
One of the reasons why becoming an expat has always seemed like a losing path. The US government believes that every nation must yield to their will. So if you found a decent enough place, you would likely be impacted by them eventually (or those that really control the government).
