A Nice Peaceful Military Park, visited it when I lived in Charlotte 40 years ago. Some of the Mtn men came from Cleveland TN. just up the road from where I now live in GA.
I’m quite fond of the Southern Appalachian Rural Redoubt of GA, TN, NC.
Those patriots must be spinning in their graves at this point in North Carolina’s history. Indeed, life is a vale of tears.
With the fighting spirit of North Carolina in mind, I visited the North Carolina Monument at Appomattox National Park recently.
It is the spot where the last volley of cannon fire was shot before the Federal Government won and States Rights went away.
