Excellent. Not that any of those called out are capable to the shame they should rightly feel at being publicly thrashed. But at least someone with the bully pulpit said a what a lot of us are thinking.
Outstanding. The various “dignitaries” in attendance are fully incapable of feeling shame, remorse, responsibility or empathy. What I felt was profound sadness and then extreme rage, white, hot anger. The cover-ups and injustices have piled up to the point that the bandaid needs to be ripped off; let the chips fall where they may and those responsible brought to justice. I believe it’s a whole lot of our “intelligence” folk who carry much of the blame.
The truth of what you say can not be overemphasized…
Years ago I read a book called Triple Cross by Peter Lance… he described in extraordinary detail the infiltration of our intelligence services by Al Qaeda agent Ali Mohammad, and how they failed our nation and the people who were murdered on that day 25 years ago. It was abject incompetence (or perhaps, by design, not quite ready to go that far, but close) by the FBI, CIA, and several other law enforcement agencies, and if even a few of those failures had not occurred, the events of that day would never have happened.
Sometimes people lie to hide their intent, and sometimes they lie to hide their incompetence. I suspect both of these are true in the case of 9/11.
